Candidates from Environmental Science and allied subjects may apply subject to the clearance of equivalence from the University. They should complete RET formalities by the examination board of the concerned department.

The candidate should have Chemistry as a combination subject at the bachelor’s level. Percentage at the Master’s level should be at least 55% marks.

Those candidates who have already passed NET/SET/GATE/M.Phil or equivalent examination need not appear at the written test and can apply directly for the interview.

Examination will be for 50 marks of one hour duration. There will be 50 (MCQ), each of 1 mark. Syllabus of the examination will follow the post graduate environmental science syllabus. (Structure of the syllabus is available from the university website).

Note :

• Maximum upto 15 candidates will be selected for the year 2014. Reservation will be followed as per existing rules.
• Qualifying the RET written examination does not guarantee admission to Ph.D. programme. The candidate has to state the probable name of the supervisor (with a brief plan of work justifying its entry into Ph.D programme in Environmental Science and the suggested supervisor’s laboratory) at the time of interview. The supervisors should be from those approved by the Ph.D committee of the Environmental Science Department. Names of approved supervisors who are interested to absorb RET qualified candidates in their research programmes are displayed on the Notice Board of the Environmental Science Department. Please note that the RET qualification does not ensure research fellowship.
